I've been watching The Office for a few years now, and I've always noticed the first few scenes from Parks and Recreation before the DVR cuts off. One day as I was watching my season 6 DVDs of The Office, I saw the free episode of Parks and Recreation that was included and I really enjoyed it.
There's definitely some things that I don't endorse (alcohol, excess sexual references), and Parks and Rec definitely crosses a few of those lines. But it's still a good show to watch, and I watched all of the three seasons of the show this summer.
To be clear, I'm not a feminist, and never will be. But, otherwise I see a lot of character traits that are similar between me and the main character, Leslie Knope. She frequently works harder than she has to, taking on a lot of responsibilities, and is enthusiastic about her department's work when noone else around her is. In addition to this, she overanalyzes things and overplans things... and pulls all-nighters and gets very little sleep.
It's been interesting to see an exaggerated version of myself and to get an outside perspective on some of my strengths and weaknesses.
